We were given 24 hours off of work... whats the best way to spend it? Well in our case the best thing we found was camping and spending the day along the river. Given our mismatching work schedule we need to take advantage of all the time off we get. We went up along highway 299 and camped about an hour and a half from Arcata along the Trinity River. What a beautiful spot. In the morning we visited this coffee house built out of straw and adobe and had some espresso and a relaxing visit in the sun next to the river. This little coffee shop is in the perfect spot. Completely isolated from any big town it is the only thing around for miles and it is the perfect rest area when out in the woods. Well after that we found this secret little spot where the river makes a huge 180 degree turn around a sharp bend. Was about a ten minute walk from the road and was completely isolated until just before we left. I wont tell anyone where it is because you have to find it for yourself! All that within 24 hours and home before work started at 6. Man oh man was I tired and not wanting to get into the mindset of having to work. I probably moved as slow as a snail. Oh well I only get paid minimum wage.
